Every lesson is live and one-on-one (or a small group for adults) with a real teacher — no recordings, no apps instead of people. Meet Ms. Mei in your free trial lesson.

Questions parents & learners ask

Is the trial lesson really free?

Yes. One free trial lesson per learner, with no payment details required.

Do I need any Chinese to start?

No. We teach complete beginners as well as advanced learners — and kids from families who don’t speak Chinese at all.

How long are lessons?

Adult lessons are 60 minutes. Kids lessons are 25 minutes for younger children and 50 minutes for older kids and teens.

How does the kids subscription work? Can I cancel?

Kids lessons are a monthly subscription charged automatically through Stripe. We email a reminder a few days before every charge, and you can cancel anytime with no fee — cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you already paid for, and you are not charged again. Unused lessons in that month are refunded or carried over. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Does a parent need to be there?

For children under 7, we recommend that an adult is at home during the lesson.

Can I reschedule a lesson?

Yes, free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. See our Terms of Service.

Can I get a refund?

Unused lessons are fully refundable within 14 days of purchase. Prepaid lessons you haven’t used can also be refunded after that in some cases. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Which time zones do you teach in?

Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii — morning, evening and weekend slots. Learners in other countries are welcome too.

Do you help with studying in China?

Yes — consulting on a Chinese language year and a Master’s with the CSC Scholarship; bachelor’s and PhD consulting on request. See Study in China pricing.

Will someone call me to sell a package?

No. We arrange everything by email. There are no sales calls.
